OMCA Annual Institute July 16—20, 2017


The 2017 OMCA’s Annual Institute will be held the third week of July in Cleveland, Ohio at the Doubletree by Hilton.

Sessions begin at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, July 17th and end at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 20th.

Attendees will earn 11.75 points for attending the 3.5 day Institute.

OMCA will provide an inclusive outing on Tuesday evening.

Register by June 16, 2017, to receive the Early Bird Registration rate of $275. Registration rates go up to $300, if received after June 16, 2017. There is a One-Day Fee of $175 that is for Education Sessions Only.

President Molly Kapeluck’s theme for the 2017 Institute is ―Wizard of Oz. Come and join us for a time of learning, networking and collaborating as we navigate through our Hearts, Courage and Brains. We are offering 3.5 days of top notch education that will provide you the tools necessary to go back to the office and face the many challenges we as Municipal clerks face every day. You will have the ability to visit and learn about the many services our Vendors provide for us in our municipalities. Once again this year, we will have an ―All Inclusive Institute Outing‖ - a nice evening to enjoy the company of our colleagues and vendors. You will not want to miss our Annual Banquet as we announce the winner of our Prestigious Clerk of the Year Award as well as swearing in our 2018 Officers. This year’s institute is jam packed with education sessions addressing things like courageous leadership, heart to heart communication, professional development, CRA/Economic Development tools, shared services, active shooter/body cameras, heroin epidemic, records retention, ethics, and an legislative update. We are also offering breakout sessions for Clerk/Treasurers. We are also excited to once again, offer our ―MMC’s On The Move‖ session.
